Pion-pion scattering amplitudes and the timelike pion form-factor from lattice QCD

Description
A recent benchmark lattice calculation of the isovector elastic pion-pion scattering amplitude and corresponding timelike pion form factor is presented. Systematic errors due to the lattice spacing and finite volume are demonstrably controlled, paving the way for phenomenological applications. For example, the timelike pion form factor contributes significantly to lattice determinations of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon.
