Description
Many-body localization (MBL) is a way to break ergodicity, thermalization and transport in disordered interacting quantum systems. In this talk we will show how the peculiarities of the MBL phase are encoded in the Hamiltonian matrix of a localizable model and how it is possible to recover most of the information about the MBL state from a 'compressed' Hamiltonian matrix. This allows the use of unbiased methods on a substantially smaller matrix, thus allowing, at high disorder, to numerically access large system sizes (and possibly tackle the problem of MBL in 2D systems).
