Description
Accurate predictions of transverse observables, such as the transverse momentum distributions of the Higgs and Z bosons, or the $\phi*$ angle in Drell-Yan pair production, are a key ingredient in the LHC precision programme.
These observables provide a clean experimental and theoretical environment for precision physics at hadron colliders and are thus an ideal framework to probe many non-trivial features of QCD.
I will discuss a novel method for performing resummation for this class of observables directly in momentum space, and I will present phenomenological predictions up to NNLO+N$^3$LL accuracy for the transverse momentum distribution in Higgs and Drell-Yan pair production and for the $\phi*$ angle distribution at the LHC.
