Description
Euclid is the next ESA mission devoted to Cosmology. The mission is expected to be launched at the end of year 2021 and to last six years. Recently it has successfully passed the Critical Design Review for instruments and spacecraft. Italian participation is funded by ASI and science institutes (INAF, INFN, several Universities). The main scientific aim of the mission is the study of Dark Energy and Dark Matter. These will be complementarily studied  via two independent main probes: gravitational lensing and clustering  We will review the scientific problem, the main probes and related methods, the mission characteristics.
