Description
Rare event searches in particle physics, such as Majorana neutrinos and Dark Matter interactions, require detectors with low energy threshold, excellent energy resolution and large sensing dimensions. We are developing new sensors based on Kinetic Inductance Detectors, consisting in superconducting resonant circuits cooled below the critical temperature. The main advantages of this technology reside in the high reproducibility and scalability to large arrays of detectors, matching very well the requirements of future experiments. In this Seminar I will present our activity on light detectors to search for Majorana neutrinos and potential applications to dark matter searches and other fields.
