Description
Machine Learning (ML) tackles the problems of the pattern identification in data and of the optimal exploitation of these regularities to make predictions and take informed decisions. This field develops originally from engineering and computer science and in recent years has grown very quickly across neighboring domains of data analysis. Nowadays, very few scientific areas remain untouched by it. We will introduce the main different types of ML, namely supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning, and we will make additional distinctions based on the tools and outputs that are routinely seen in the field. We will then outline the various steps of the learning problem characteristic of a general application of ML algorithms by providing related examples...........
