NLO+PS with decaying resonances, the top case

I will discuss a recently proposed method for matching NLO QCD corrections to the parton shower for processes mediated by coloured resonances. In order to perform precise realistic simulations of the production of resonances their decay must be included. In current frameworks for NLO+PS simulations, however, problems arise when generating the radiation from the decay of the resonance, especially for narrow resonances such as the top quark. I will then compare a new top-pair generator, utilizing resonance aware NLO+PS matching, to those commonly used in experimental analyses, focusing on observables used for the determination of the top-quark mass.
