General Matters:

  • Next Muraves General: May 19th in Naples
  • Technical meeting report by Adithyan
  • Visit to Naples:
    • Provide flights information that I will forward to G&G
    • 14:00 14:20
      Round table 20m
Speakers: Adithyan Rajan (Vrije Universiteit Brussels), Alice Biolchini (CP3), Dora Geeraerts, Gábor Nyitrai (UNINA), Samip Basnet, Yanwen Hong (Ghent University)

      Gabor:

      • 1phe analysis finished
      • Assumption: Distance between peaks is fixed to the same quantity, use 24 runs (day of data) to create a banchmark histogram and compare each single run with that.

What is the effect of wrong 1phe? How to quantify

      • In pedestal files there are channels with NaN and channels with 0
        • NaN: there are data but it's not possible to identify the peak, not even by eye (like panettone channels)
        • 0: there are no peaks

      HDD:

      • Test banchmark strategy with new runs using his script of fitting

      Dora:

      • Sobmitted jobs on Condor
      • Small samples under analysis also background variables (this is for next week) - background generated from secondaries
      • Digitalisation:
        • Introduce energy trachsold
        • TrackID: type of particle
        • energy deposited per bar, per event. (if two particles hits the energy is summed)
        • Use energy with only muons? Yes
        • Cluster energy distributions.
        • Fit cluster energy distribution (it should be clean enough) - for now do not apply clustering algorithm and only for muons.
        • Provide cluster size distributions of the simulation as it is.
        • Plot energy distributions of e, gamma, n and proton (4 more abundand secondaries that trigger the detector)

Andrea: If two particles hits the same particles, are counted twice? Double check what's plotted

      Adythian:

      • Fit with cluster energy using clusters involved in clusters, this should clean up the data

      Actions:

      • Alice: Send raw root file with only ADC counts
    • 14:20 14:30
      Updates from Alice 10m
      Speaker: Alice Biolchini (CP3)
      • Adding metadata to the output file and exporting parameters, increased running time
      • Brought running time back to the way was optimising function call
      • Not yet released on GitHub
    • 14:30 14:40
      Updates from Gabor 10m
      Speaker: Gábor Nyitrai (UNINA)
    • 14:40 14:50
      Updates from Yanwen 10m
      Speaker: Yanwen Hong (Ghent University)
    • 14:50 15:00
      Updates from Dora 10m
Speaker: Dora Geeraerts (Vrije Universiteit Brussel)
    • 15:00 15:10
      Updates from Adithyan 10m
Speaker: Adithyan Rajan (Vrije Universiteit Brussels)
    • 15:10 15:20
      Updates from Samip 10m
      Speaker: Samip Basnet

Examine if the clusterSize 1 issue for the 4th station also persists in the simulated data.
