DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Davide Rindori\nWe put forward a general method to d
etermine the entropy current of relativistic matter at local thermodynami
c equilibrium in relativistic quantum statistical mechanics. Provided that
the local equilibrium operator is bounded from below with non-degenerate
lowest eigenvalue\, it is proved that the entropy is extensive\, namely
it can be expressed as an integral of an entropy current on a 3-dimension
al spacelike hypersurface. We then apply our method to the study of two sy
stems of both theoretical and phenomenological concern. The former being
a relativistic fluid at global thermodynamic equilibrium with acceleratio
n\, which is particularly interesting for it is related to the Unruh effe
ct. The latter being a relativistic fluid at global thermodynamic equilibr
ium with boost invariance\, the first case of an exactly solvable system

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Lorenzo Maffi\nCompact nonlocal Abelian gauge theory
in (2 + 1) dimensions\, also known as loop model\, is a massless theory w
ith a critical line that is explicitly covariant under duality transformat
ions. It corresponds to the large NF limit of self-dual electrodynamics in
mixed three-four dimensions. It also provides a bosonic description for s
urface excitations of three-dimensional topological insulators. Upon mappi
ng the model to a local gauge theory in (3 + 1) dimensions\, we compute th
e spectrum of electric and magnetic solitonic excitations and the partitio
n function on the three torus T3. Analogous results for the S2 × S1 geome
try show that the theory is conformal invariant and determine the manifest
ly self-dual spectrum of conformal fields\, corresponding to order-disorde
r excitations with fractional statistics. The talk will be based on the wo

DESCRIPTION: \n\nThe School aims at providing robust and detailed introdu
ctions on the basic theoretical concepts and main tools to work in the fie
ld of Astroparticle Physics\, Cosmology and Gravitation. Gravitational wav
es of astrophysical and cosmological origin\, neutrino physics and astrono
my\, dark matter and dark energy\, galactic and extra-galactic cosmic rays
and gamma-rays will be some among the main topics\, and will be alternate
d along the years. The courses are organised as lectures at the blackboard
in the morning and are integrated with hands-on and discussion sessions w
ith an instructor in the afternoon. The School will profit of the Galileo
Galilei Institute facilities. Each student will have office space to study
and discuss\, with a lot of opportunities to interact with lecturers. Acc
omodation in single rooms will be provided for a total price of about 500
€ . Scholarships to cover this expense are available upon request. Lunc
h will be provided during the weekdays on the GGI premises for students an
d lecturers\, at no cost. All the dinners and the lunches during the weeke
nds\, instead\, are to be covered by the participants.\n\nImportant Notice
:\nThe spread of the COVID-19 has changed our everyday lives. As many trav
el restrictions are still in place\, even though some countries are slowly
opening up again\, the situation remains unpredictable. If the situation
keeps steadily improving\, the school will be held in person\, and a reduc
ed number of participants (about 30) will be able to attend the lectures.
The GGI will implement social distancing both in classes and in offices. T
he institute will also provide surgical masks for all the participants. Al
l the common areas will be periodically sanitized and endowed with disinfe
ctant dispensers. We invite everybody interested in participating in perso
n to apply\, even if\, as of today\, they are subject to travel restrictio
ns. We will monitor the evolution of the COVID-19 emergency and\, in the c
ase in which some admitted students will not be able to travel due to the
prolongation of the emergency\, we may consider the remote participation t
o the school (through an interactive platform such as Zoom\, G-meet\, or T
