Description
ABSTRACT

"LAMPE Project" is a case study conceived by Malika Meddahi and Pierre Bonnal, both with CERN, that is based on what has been appraised to be good practice in mater of project planning and project follow-up. It aims at providing an insight on the various management techniques to be used during the planning phase of the project (product breakdown structure, work breakdown structure, resource-responsibility matrix) to ease the project follow-up by means of the implementation of the Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology. By doing so, the benefits to the project management team are twofold: increasing confidence the team has at handling all the managerial aspects, setting up an efficient framework to reporting to stakeholders. This case study is based on a small accelerator project where all the level of details has been squeezed so that key managerial aspects can be highlighted and discussed during dedicated seminars.
