Description
ABSTRACT

The teta13 angle is the main unknown in neutrino physics. Its actual value is a key parameter for several projects under study in US and Japan. The Double Chooz experiment aims to bring the current upper bound down by an order of magnitude within the next years. It is an international collaboration (USA, Japan, Russia, Brazil, and four European countries: Germany, England, Spain and France). The experiment is under construction. The detector installation is scheduled from next May to Spring 2009. Data taking will allow to begin improving the world bound at the end of 2009. The near detector will be built in 2010, and will allow further progress down to 0.03. This is complementary to the accelerator measurement from T2K.
