Description
ABSTRACT

Bruno Touschek was a pioneer of colliding beam storage rings. I will briefly trace the history of colliders from the first machine he built to the Large Hadron Collider and will discuss some of the performance limitations of the LHC already identified by him in the 1960's. I will also review the performance of the LHC to date and its future prospects.
